Formula
X% of Y = (X ÷ 100) × Y
X as a percentage of Y = (X ÷ Y) × 100
Example
15% of 200 is 30. Separately, 50 is 25% of 200.
Notes and limitations
Results are rounded to two decimal places for display. The second calculation cannot use zero as Y. Confirm important financial or contractual calculations independently.

How do I calculate a percentage of a number?
Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100.
How do I find what percentage X is of Y?
Divide X by Y and multiply by 100. Y cannot be zero.
Can percentages be greater than 100?
Yes. A value above 100% is larger than the reference amount.
